So, I finally went to see Captain Marvel. I have been waiting since Avengers: Infinity War, to see the next installment in the marvel cinematic universe, which would precede the final battle in Avengers: Endgame.
Obviously, being an MCU fan, it was inevitable for me to go. Also, this was Marvel Studio’s first female superhero movie and being as it came out way after D.C’s Wonder Woman, it is only natural to compare the two.
I will admit that I do have a huge bias for the Marvel movies, seeing as they are well executed and developed. The D.C movies, are clearly made to compete with the Marvel movies, and fail to meet up to their competitor’s standards; hence the reason they never do as well as the Marvel movies. The only one that I can say personally, was equal to the Marvel movies, was Wonder Woman. The movie was well developed and executed, up until the ending. The ending wasn’t that impressive but the previous parts of the movie made up for it. Then Aquaman came out, and that too was a well executed movie but still I find them both to fall short of all of the Avengers movies. They may be on the same level as say Iron Man, but that’s about it.
But as for Captain Marvel; I would say it was very entertaining but still not at the same level of the Avengers movies. I was hoping that it would be better than Wonder Woman, but I think they are both on the same level; which is alright. It had a lot of sweet cinematographic scenes but I think I loved Wonder Woman’s, fighting scenes more.
So, I enjoyed watching it but I am not sure if I would want to watch it again. It may be because I am comparing it to the Avengers movies, which is unfair, but I believe those are the best Marvel Studio movies out there. There isn’t any movie that really surpasses them, not even Black Panther.
With that being said, I cannot wait for Avengers: Endgame, because Captain Marvel, was just a prelude to the awesome battle that is about to ensue!
