Netflix – Lost In Space

Netflix released its’ remake of the oldies (1965) Lost In Space, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! They released 10 episodes on April 13th and it was met with positive reception. Initially, when I first saw it show up on my front page, I wasn’t sure if it was going to deliver as the 1998 movie, in hindsight wasn’t that great. For its’ time it was pretty interesting but after a second round of it, you realize it was as cheesy as the original, with just some added cinematographic tricks that the time (1998) allowed.

With regards to this current remake, the basis is still the same, of course, but with a little extra twist in it that makes it a better story than the original. The flow of the series also, allows the whole 10 episodes to come together like one long ass movie. There was no down moments at all and to be honest, every episode left you wanting to know what would happen next.

As for the characters, we still have Will Robinson, Dr. Smith (who’s a female instead of a dude), Penny Robinson, Dr. Maureen Robinson, and Judy Robinson (who’s black this time and is an 18 year old doctor). The other changes, is the premise and the reason why the Robinson’s are in space and not only that, but we learn pretty quick that they aren’t the only family in space. The premise kind of reminds me of interstellar but with an inhabitable planet already picked up and awaiting its’ new members.

To not give away too much of the story, as I am not one to provide spoilers in a review, the above is all I am going to say in regards to the changes and what the story is all about. Which is easily accessible by just looking up the show, so nothing really was revealed.

The ending though, opens up for an awesome story for season 2. At the end, I was just completely ecstatic with the twist they decided to pursue for the second season. You definitely wouldn’t be disappointed.

So if you’re looking for a netflix series to get your hands on, check out Lost in Space.

Unfortunate for those who are overly enthusiastic to see the continuation of season 1, with that fabulous ending, are going to have to wait till Spring/Summer of 2019 to get our fix and that’s if Netflix is interested in a second season; which I am sure they will green lighting with all the buzz this first season got!
